Role summary:
We are looking for a junior BIM designer to join our Technical Design Unit where you will work on the next generation of construction technology.
You have a degree in Architecture or a related field where you honed advanced modelling skills in BIM/Revit. You have some hands-on experience using BIM at a business level. You will design ideas alongside an international team of architects and engineers and test them on full-scale mock-ups in our 1,000 sqm R&D space with the support of our talented technicians.
Qualifications encompass: a recent a degree in Architecture. Advanced hands-on skills in BIM. Strong knowledge of building construction details and materials. Fluency in English is a must, Italian is a plus.
Role location: Turin, Italy
Growth trajectory: The 6-month internship is a stepping-stone to becoming a permanent member of the Technical Design staff.
Role responsibilities:
• Develop design solutions for problems related to a building’s constructability and fabrication techniques whilst rigorously adhering to overall architectural intent.
• Visually comminate design ideas to a range of stakeholders using technical drawings, diagrams, 3D models and animations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers, technicians, fabricators, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers.
• Oversee the prototyping process in our R&D facility.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or similar.
• Excellent technical and detailing skills. Experience producing architectural construction documents preferred.
• Ability to iterate on designs quickly and effectively based on feedback or changes in requirements.
• Revit software experience in a hands-on role.
• Strong physical model making or prototyping skills, both at scaled and full-scale representation, experience in the medium of 3D printing, sculpting, woodworking, or metal working preferred.
• Knowledge of visual programming software such as Grasshopper and Dynamo is advised. Knowledge of Python or C# is a plus.
